The Martin D16GT was built from 1999 to 2019 and like the D-18, pairs a Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany for the back, sides, body blocks and neck. The ‘GT’ references the Gloss Top finish – the rest of the guitar’s finish is satin.

On these models, the fingerboard and bridge are Richlite, and the head plate is Granadillo.

Seen here is a Martin D16GT built during the middle of 2010 and in very good, clean and original condition. The top is Sitka Spruce, with a Herringbone purfling ring as the centerpiece of the rosette. The faux-tortoise pickguard is fixed to the finish, not the top.

This example is in great shape with a few small marks, and very light fret wear. It does not appear to have been played enough to really develop its voice, but it already has a full, rich warm tone with plenty of sparkle. The action is good, and there is plenty of saddle above the bridge.

The original hard shell case is included.
