Neck Mahogany neck,rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot markers. Bolt-on design, 21 frets. 30 3/4″ Scale Length.
Frets 21 small frets in good condition with minimal wear.
Body Slim light contoured solid mahogany body
Finish Original Clear Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, with lacquer checking and some dings. Overall, in fairly good shape.
Hardware/electronics Two Hagstrom single-coil pickups, volume control, selector and tone switches. Four original style gears, octave gears have been replaced with Schallers.
Playability/Action This plays quite well. Action and intonation are fully adjustable. Hagstroms were noted for wide, thin necks and this is no exception.
Case Hardshell case.
Comments The 8-string bass appears in a few key recordings (including several by Hendrix) but never really caught on.
