The Schroeder Edge prototype was built during 2009 for the annual NAMM shows in Anaheim, California. Jason Z Schroeder is a highly respected luthier and a member of the Premium Builder’s Guild, sometimes known as the PBG.

The PBG runs a workshop that allows this group of luthiers to create designs, then have them built in larger numbers almost ‘in house’. This arrangement keeps close control of quality and artistic considerations and does not force the builders into meeting the demands of the larger commercial market.

This Schroeder Edge prototype features a flame maple cap on an alder body, and an oiled rosewood neck with ebony fingerboard. Frets are stainless steel, the pickups are by Seymour Duncan, and the bridge is by HipShot. This guitar is in very good playing condition with minimal wear, and the original hardshell case is included.
