The Larrivee D-09 follows the pattern of one of the most successful guitar designs of all time – the Dreadnought or D-body – pioneered by the C F Martin company in the early decades of the 20th century. Over time, these full bodied guitars became the default body shape, providing full rich bass and midranges with clear highs, and usually more volume than smaller instruments.
The D-09 model features a Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony for the fingerboard, bridge and headplate, and grained ivoroid fingerboard binding.
Dating to April 17 1996, this Larrivee D-09 is in good condition with just a little play wear and light marking, less than expected on a 21-year old instrument. A TruTone M7 pickup is installed, and the original hardshell case is included.
