Gibson SG Standard

Gibson SG Standard

The Gibson SG Standard has been an industry icon for decades. Introduced in 1961, the SG quickly became popular thanks to its streamlined, lightweight design and rich, crunchy tones. For 2013, Gibson has made some subtle teaks to the SG Standard model, bringing it closer to the design of its early 60’s predecessors. Ed Henderson Concert and CD Release at Heliconian Hall!

Ed Henderson is one of my first customers going back to the early days of The Twelfth Fret. In those days he was busy playing the various “pit gigs” he had at Theatres around Toronto.

The guitarists who land these incredible theatre gigs are always the cream of the crop players — but I had no idea that he was such a fabulous solo steel string acoustic and nylon string player.

Ed moved out west several years ago but we do stay in touch. Recently when he passed through town and visited the store I got to hear him check out guitars in our classical room and was floored to hear what he was doing.

Ed’s CD knocked my socks off and his new CD release is just as enchanting.

Stelling Bellflower Banjo

 Stelling Bellflower Banjo

The shaded ‘Cremona’ style sunburst finish pairs very well with the flamed maple.
