MORE →Here is a lovely Gibson ES-175D from 1965. It’s in good condition and sounds great. Cherry lacquer sunburst finishes fade in a very attractive manner, and this one is no exception.
The ES-175 was introduced in 1949 as a lower cost, electric version of the L-4, and was the first Gibson electric to feature the pointed ‘Florentine’ cutaway. It’s been in production ever since. Until 1953, the ES-175 was a single pickup guitar; at that point a second pickup was added and the guitar became the ES-175D. In 1957, the new Gibson humbuckers were added.
