Today we are featuring a stunning concert cutaway flat top from David Wren. This cedar and highly figured sapele mahogany combination serves up a well balanced tone with smooth trebles a lush warm midrange and plenty of bass. This guitar looks every bit as good as it sounds with lovely wood sets, cool asymmetrical styling on the bridge, headstock and fingerboard extension. Top it off with a spalted maple rosette and maple leaf fretboard inlay and you have one classy looking guitar. Every detail on this guitar including the joinery and finish work is top notch. Kay instruments were built under the Kay name from 1931; previously, the company had been Groehsl and then Stromberg-Voisinet. This instrument was built around 1962; it’s in good condition, it plays very well and has a quite good tone.

We rarely get Ramírez guitars in the door as trade in guitars. But this week, two incredible Ramírez guitars came in …both traded up to much higher level Concert instruments.Both are very recent construction; one in Spruce top and one in Cedar
I’ve looked them over and condition is virtually perfect or “as new” condition. The finish is mint and no sign of playing wear on the fretboard.

This is a great-sounding guitar with all the sonic richness, definition and presence of a D-28 and I personally like the V-profile neck. It’s in excellent condition and has been well played in.
