Here is a Czechoslovakian-made Stanford D5VIN which is basically a Martin copy. The classic wood pairing of spruce and rosewood on a dreadnought body with herringbone trim reminds me of an HD28. This guitar is in great overall shape with very little wear and tear and comes with a black arched hardshell case.

This Hagstrom Coronado IV Bass from 1967 is interesting bass and sounds really good – a warm, woody tone, and it’s light! The slim neck makes it very easy to play, too.

The Japanese-made Gretsch models are consistently very good. This wonderful Gretsch Chet Atkins Tennessee Rose 6119 guitar from 2007 is in excellent conditon. It shimmers and has lots of twang; it’s very comfortable and feels solid.
