Steve Morse is a six time Grammy nominated guitarist. He is renowned for his diverse playing style that mixes rock, jazz, classical, and country. This is a Hopf Saturn 63, made around 1963 in Germany.
It has a carved maple back, carved spruce top; the original metal strip covering the join, and a patented EverStraight neck (multiple laminations). This neck technique was also used by Framus.
