This is a bit of Canadian rock history – a ‘RUSH’ Marshall 4×12 Straight Front Cabinet, built around 1977 and used on tours from late 1977 by Alex Lifeson. These tours supported the ‘Farewell to Kings‘ and ‘Hemispheres‘ albums, released in September 1977 and October 1978 respectively. At that time, these cabs were powered by first Marshall, then Hiwatt amplifier heads. This cabinet has the RUSH logo stencilled on the back, with ‘STAGE RIGHT’ across the top of the back panel to aid in on-stage placement.
This ‘Rush’ Marshall cabinet has been identified and confirmed as having been part of the gear for the period of these tours. There is masking tape added to various components of unknown origin, perhaps by a later tech.
