This amp is somewhat rare – a Walter Woods MI 100-8 Two Channel Bass Amp, hand built during 1999 in Van Nuys California.
Walter Woods amps were hand built by Walter Woods from the early 1970s until about 2008, with production diminishing after 2003. Targeted towards acoustic, upright bassists, these small but high powered amps were ands are highly respected.
Wood’s goal was to produce high powered but compact and light weight amp heads for working bassists. His amps are known for a rich, warm tone.
The Walter Woods Mi-100-8 two channel amp first appeared towards the end of the 1970’s and was virtually unchanged throughout its production. Its transistor power stages are drawn from 1959-era RCA Reference schematics, delivering a rated 100 watts into 8ohms.
For external AC power supply, this Walter Woods MI-100-8 amp is switchable from 100vAC to 110vAC at 50 or 60Hz, or 220vAC-240vAC at 50 or 60Hz.
This amp is in overall very good condition and is nicely lightweight and portable.
