From 1987 to 2017 when the American Standard line was replaced by American Professionals , the Fender American Standard Precision Bass was the ‘Standard’ model of the bass whose 1951 introduction changed the way music is presented, performed and recorded. At the time Leo Fender introduced a bass to match the quickly-accepted Telecaster and Esquire models, bass parts were normally played on acoustic, upright basses.

This Fender Stratocaster 57 Vintage model built during 2003 is one of several lines of vintage reproductions, bringing back the features and aesthetics of classic models. This Fender Stratocaster 57 Vintage is in overall good, but not entirely original, condition. With a light ash body and one-piece V profile Maple neck and finished in a thin, fifties-style two tone tobacco sunburst lacquer, and with single layer pickguard, this example hews closely to the 57 specs.

Fender Mustang Sunburst, 1973

Introduced in 1964 and built until 1982 as a student model, the Fender Mustang has also been used by a number of touring professionals, including Adrian Belew, Kurt Cobain, David Byrne, John Frusciante and of course the late Johnny Winter. Here we’re looking at a Fender Mustang in Sunburst finish, built during 1973 at the Fender Fullerton plant, almost halfway through the period of CBS ownership.

Here is a real treat – a Fender 1953 Precision Bass, an early example of one of the most influential instruments ever built. The revolutionary introduction of the solidbody and fretted Precision Bass allowed bassists to follow guitarists in accuracy of pitch and precision tuning, and also in the area of stage volume through amplification without feedback. Without this innovation, we probably wouldn’t have gone to arenas or festival grounds to see incredibly loud artists.

Here’s an always-fun guitar – a Gibson ES125TDC thinline cutaway archtop electric guitar with a pair of P-90’s and several upgrades! As stock, the Gibson ES125TDC – ES stands for Electric Spanish (as opposed to Hawaiian) and the TDC initials expand to Thinline, Double Pickup and with a Cutaway  has a pair of P-90 pickups with black plastic ‘Dog Ear’ covers, indicating the screw tabs used to mount the cover and pickup to the guitar top.
