Eastman El Rey ER2 Thinline Archtop Electric Sunburst, 2006

Eastman El Rey ER2 Thinline Archtop Electric Sunburst, 2006

The Eastman El Rey ER2 is designed to produce a full archtop sound from a smaller, much lighter body – it is only 14 inches across, a bit bigger than a Gibson Les Paul. Otherwise it has a relatively typical archtop construction – solid, hand carved spruce top, solid and hand carved flame maple back, solid flame maple sides and neck, and ebony for the fingerboard, bridge base, and tailpiece cover.

Harrison GB Blister Maple Sunburst, 2021

Harrison GB Blister Maple Sunburst, 2021

Here we have a brand new Harrison GB Blister Maple with its spectacular figuring emphasised by a hand-rubbed sunburst lacquer finish! The Harrison GB design originated as a custom order from the late Gary Benson, a prominent Toronto jazz guitarist and educator. The concept is a thin chambered Tropical Mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla) body with a hand-carved Maple top with F-holes, a Mahogany neck with Ebony fingerboard, usually an Ebony bridge and a single humbucking pickup in the neck position.

SOLD Eastman Romeo Thinline Archtop Guitar Sunburst

The new Eastman Romeo is a thinline archtop electric designed by Otto D’Ambrosio and features a solid Spruce top on laminated Mahogany sides and back for feedback resistance. Introduced during 2020 but in short supply due to COVID effects, the Eastman Romeo has an almost fully hollow body, but with a Mahogany block from the tail to the bridge. The neck is Mahogany, with a bound Ebony fingerboard and Mother of Pearl dot position markers.

Gibson ES135 Cutaway Thinline Archtop Sunburst, 1996

Gibson ES135 Cutaway Thinline Archtop Sunburst, 1996

The single cutaway, thinline Gibson ES135, built from 1991 to 2004 started out as a quite different guitar – the 1954 ES-130 non-cutaway archtop electric, renamed the ES-135 in 1956 and discontinued in 1958.  For 1991, Gibson blended the ES-334 concept with the ES-175 body shape and added a pair of P-90 or humbucking pickups  and either a trapeze or stop tailpiece.  The model was discontinued in 2004. The Gibson ES135 shares many construction features with other ES (Electric Spanish) thinline models.

Eastman SB59V Single Cutaway Solidbody Electric, Amber

Eastman SB59V Single Cutaway Solidbody Electric, Amber

Though unequivocally drawn from the classic Les Paul design and in particular the most desirable 1959 models, the Eastman SB59V is not a slavish copy. Many visual differences are clear, including the shapes of the headstock and cutaway. The body is constructed of a carved, Flame maple top laminated to a one-piece Mahogany slab body. A Mahogany neck with a bound Ebony fingerboard is attached via a longish tenon joint. The neck has a vintage style ‘V’ profile.
