G&L L-2000 E Series Bass Sunburst, 2016

Introduced in 1980, the G&L L-2000 bass was one of Leo Fender’s last bass designs. The first was the 1953 Fender Precision Bass and it’s hard to overstate its influence on how music is presented. This example dates to 2016 at the G&L shop on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, and is in very good, clean original condition. It plays well, and the finish and frets have very little wear.

Fender P-Bass Refinish, 1963

This Fender P-Bass has been around! Dating to 1963 and refinished during the 1980’s at the original Twelfth Fret location at 920 Kingston Road, the faux-tortoise pickguard has also been modified into two sections, the other components are original and it feels and sounds like an L-Series Precision bass.

Fender Jazz Bass V American Standard Sunburst, 2016

The Fender Jazz Bass V, as an American Standard version, was built from 1998 to 2000, then from 2008 to 2016. The American Standard name was dropped in 2017 to be replaced by the American Professional line. Despite being listed in catalogs as the “Jazz Bass V”, the “V” does not appear on the headstock logo of this instrument. The five-string bass seems to have appeared in 1965 as the short-lived Fender Bass V.

Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1967

Here is one of the cleanest vintage Fender Precision Basses we’ve seen in a while, dating to 1967 and with its original case, bridge and pickup covers. The Fender Precision Bass, introduced in late 1951 as a logical progression from Fender’s guitar design, has been hands down one of the most influential musical instrument designs in history.

EB Music Man Silhouette Bass Guitar Pearl White, 2012

The Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette Bass Guitar rests between a short-scale 6-string bass, like Fender’s Bass VI, and a Baritone guitar. Using a 29.625 inch scale length Maple neck (the Bass VI was 30 inches) paired with a Poplar body, the Silhouette Bass Guitar also has a pair of DiMarzio custom splitable humbuckers, Schaller tuners, and Music Man bridge.

Eminence Portable Upright Bass

Here’s something we see rarely – the Eminence Portable Upright Bass! This innovative instrument brings the tone and response of an upright bass into a foldable format, with the case not much bigger than a set of golf clubs. The Eminence Portable Upright is an acoustic / electric instrument, and takes lessons learned from the early days of electric guitar development when archtops were adapted with pickups. It was quickly discovered that electrifying traditional ‘solid wood’ construction has downsides, particularly in terms of feedback as volumes rise (as they will!).
