The Martin D-18 Dreadnought is one of the truly iconic guitars and its popularity has also made it one of the most copied. Originally designed to compete with instruments like banjos on unamplified bandstands, its somewhat bass-biased tone makes it ideal as a rhythm instrument, while the Mahogany back and sides add high end sparkle for fingerstyle.

Taylor 610e Maple Dreadnought, Brown Sugar, 2015

The Taylor 610e starts with a classic Dreadnought body design, but uses Maple for the sides, back and neck. This model was built from 1998 to 2017, and discontinued as the 2018 V-Class instruments were introduced. This Taylor 610e dates to the September 01, 2015 and is in very good, clean and original condition.

Gibson Les Paul Special Tobacco Sunburst, 1977

Introduced in 1955 as an intermediate model, the two-pickup, single cutaway Gibson Les Paul Special’s main difference from the GoldTop Les Paul was the lack of a carved Maple top. This model followed the entry level, single P-90 pickup Les Paul Junior that appeared in 1954. Both models used ‘slab’ Mahogany bodies, Mahogany necks and Rosewood fingerboards – at the time, Brazilian Rosewood.

The Michael Messer Blues 28 hews closely to the original 1928 specifications and has the classic wood-bodied resonator guitar sound and feel. This model is built with a 1928-style Mahogany laminate body with F-holes and Mahogany neck, 12 frets to the body, with a spun Aluminum cone and Maple biscuit bridge. The National String Instrument Corporation invented and introduced the first Resophonic guitars in 1927, using a tri-cone, metal body design worked out by John Dopyera and George Beauchamp.
