Suhr Classic Pro S1 Candy Apple Red, 2008

The Suhr Classic Pro S1 draws from the deep well of the proven ‘S’ style guitar design and upgrades a number of aspects from hardware and build quality to body contours. Here we’re looking at a Suhr Classic Pro S1 sporting a red Metallic finish, in very good clean condition with only light wear. This example dates to 2008 and was built at Lake Elsinore, California. The body is Alder, paired with a Maple neck, Ebony fingerboard and Stainless Steel frets.

Gibson LG3 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1949

The Gibson LG3 was built from late 1942 to 1963 as an entry level model, but its production was suspended months after its launch due to WW2. It was introduced with the LG1 and LG2, but from 1943 to 1945, only the sunburst LG2 stayed in production. All three models were similar in appearance, but the LG1 and LG2 were ladder braced while the LG3 had what’s now the standard X bracing. In 1963, the LG3 was replaced by the B25-N (for Natural Finish Top).

Taylor 810e DLX Dreadnought Steel String Natural, 2016

The Taylor 810e DLX draws from the classic Dreadnought design, pairing a Spruce top with Rosewood for the body for a full, rich sound with plenty of volume and projection. Built in El Cajon, California and dated to November 15 2016, this Taylor 810e DLX is in overall good clean condition with just a couple of small marks in the finish – they can be hard to find. Fret wear is light, and mostly limited to the lower frets and higher strings; a light dress and polish would make them look new.

Ramirez Conservatorio Abeto Classical Guitar, 2014

Here’s a Ramirez Conservatorio Abeto Concert classical guitar, built during 2014 in Madrid, Spain and featuring the ‘Abeto’ or Spruce top.

This example is in overall good condition, with one small pressure mark on the top. It has no cracks and wear is minimal. The original Ramirez-branded Hiscox lightweight flight case is included. The Ramirez Conservatorio Concert Classical guitar represents a major development in classical guitar design from Amalia Ramírez, with unique use of ‘fiddle edge’ construction.

Gibson SG ‘Batwing’ Standard Cherry, 2012

The Gibson SG ‘Batwing’ Standard started appearing in 1966, displacing the smaller, treble-side pickguard, offering much more protection to the top of the guitar during enthusiastic use. The SG itself was originally introduced as the 1961 Les Paul, but without Les Paul’s input and at the end of his endorsement contract. For various reasons, the Les Paul name was dropped for 1963 production and has been the SG or ‘Solid Guitar’ since.
