Mike Ramsey Woody Banjo, 2008

The Mike Ramsey Woody 5-string is an open back traditional style banjo with frailing scoop, and featuring a wooden tone ring and rim. This example was built in Chapel Hill, NC.
Mike Ramsey began building banjos in 1986, and in 1990 shifted to full time banjo production in Lebanon, Ohio. In 1994 he moved to a new shop in Appomattox, Virginia, and again in 2005 to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Around 2010, he moved to Pittsboro, NC. For a time, he sold his banjos through Elderly Instruments under the name Chanterelle.

Deering Golden Era Custom 5-String Banjo Sunburst, 2016

Built during 2016 at the Deering plant in Spring Valley California, this Deering Golden Era Custom 5-string banjo is in very good, clean condition with only the slightest wear. Based on the classic banjo designs of the 1930’s, these are great instruments with all the quality of tone, volume and punch one would expect from a professional grade banjo.

Warren Yates Ron Stewart Signature Banjo, 2011

The Warren Yates Ron Stewart signature banjo is built in Hickory, North Carolina, and goes for the tone and feel of a 1930s model. Created in close consultation with Ron Stewart, this model features at its core a custom pre-war spec tone ring – the ‘Venom V33’ – and a Mahogany rim. Yates tries to make every part, with the resonators shaped and rims bent in-house. This example dates to August 2011 and is in overall very good condition.

Gold Star GF-100HF Hearts and Flowers 5-String Banjo Mahogany, 2006

Produced for Saga Musical Instruments, the mahogany Gold Star GF-100HF ‘Hearts and Flowers’ banjo reproduces a classic flathead banjo from the 1930s. The Gold Star models appeared in the late 1970s and have been in production since, in a few variations. This 2006 Gold Star GF-100H in very nice condition, with just slight wear. These banjos are ideal for bluegrass, producing excellent tone and clarity, served up with more than adequate volume.

As one of the company’s top left handed models, the Gold Tone OB-250F LH is built to highest standards with a bell bronze tone ring, curly maple neck, all chrome hardware, premium tuners with the classic Gibson Mastertone style Hearts & Flowers inlay pattern. Fitted with the ‘correct’ one piece Zinc flange and maple rim, you will get the same classic ‘snap’ or Mastertone ‘cluck’ from your right hand Scruggs-style attack.
