Here’s a great deal on a New, Old Stock (NOS) Taylor Custom GA in Spruce and Figured Walnut, dating to early 2015 and at a significant price reduction! As the name suggests, the Taylor Custom GA is from Taylor’s Custom programme, sometimes known as BTO or ‘Build To Order’. The GA stands for Grand Auditorium, one of the larger body sizes but smaller than a Jumbo or Dreadnought.
Custom
Introduced in 1954 as the top of the line, the Gibson Les Paul Custom featured a gloss black finish on a Mahogany body with carved Mahogany cap, an Alnico-V ‘Staple Top’ pickup in the neck position and a P-90 at the bridge.

MORE →Built in Japan from 1994 to 1999, the Yamaha AEX1500 is a single-cutaway archtop electric guitar originally designed by Yamaha and British jazz guitarist Martin Taylor. Taylor used these guitars as his touring instruments. While these models were sold in North America as the AEX1500, in Europe and the UK they were called the “Martin Taylor” model.

MORE →Rare and spectacular, this Gibson L-5CST Custom “George Gobel” model sports a Cherry Red finish and was signed and dated by the late James W Hutchins on October 15th, 1993 at Nashville. From 1959 to 1961, Gibson offered a thinline version of the L-5C – the Gibson L-5CT – as a production model, based on a guitar built for George Gobel, a popular television actor, entertainer and guitarist with his own show running from 1954 to 1960.

MORE →Built from 1995 to 1999 and eventually becoming the ES Les Paul, the Gibson CS Les Paul Florentine blends features from the Les Paul custom into a heavily chambered, dual F-hole model. From a distance, the Gibson CS Les Paul Florentine looks like a nicely appointed Les Paul Custom. Closer examination shows the two F-holes – though some few variants, like the Korina Florentine had solid tops – indicating that the construction is based on a heavily routed Mahogany back with a Maple top.
