Taylor 814ce DLX Steel String Guitar, Natural (No Longer Available-Discontinued)

Taylor 814ce DLX Steel String Guitar, Natural (No Longer Available-Discontinued)

The Taylor 814ce DLX is a luxurious Grand Auditorium body shape which pairs a Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back with Taylor’s patented V-Class bracing to reach new levels of tonal performance. One of Taylor’s most popular shapes, the Grand Auditorium body is a versatile general-purpose guitar. Its width is similar to a dreadnought but with a much curvier shape which changes the response and dynamics. It is equally well suited to fingerstyle or strumming so you can use it for many different styles.

Taylor 514ce Cedar and Mahogany Steel String, 2016

Taylor 514ce Cedar and Mahogany Steel String, 2016

The Taylor 514ce Cedar and Mahogany steel string guitar has been in Taylor’s line since its introduction in 1998.  Using a Grand Auditorium body,  its pairing of a Western Red Cedar top with Central American Mahogany make it a great choice for fingerstylists. Red Cedar is used on many classical guitars due to its warmth and responsiveness to the dynamic nuances of fingerstyle playing, and is tonally balanced by the articulation, sparkle and midrange presence of the Mahogany sides and back.   With playing,  Cedar also develops its voice fairly quickly compared to Spruce.

Larrivee OMV 05 Steel String Guitar, 2006

Now out of production, this Larrivee OMV-05 dates to October 20, 2006 at Larrivee’s shop in Oxnard, California. It features a Sitka Spruce top paired with Central American Mahogany for the sides, back, body blocks, and neck.

Martin JC16RE Aura Jumbo Cutaway Steel String, 2007

Martin JC16RE Aura Jumbo Cutaway Steel String, 2007

The Martin JC16RE uses what is for that company an unusual body design, a Jumbo – slightly smaller than a Dreadnought in some dimensions, and larger than an OM or 000 in virtually all body dimensions. The proportions are similar to a classical guitar, so these Jumbo models tend to have a more even tonal representation throughout the harmonic range, plus more volume. This Martin JC16RE dates to 2007 and was built at the Martin plant in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
