MORE →The Eastman E20D is the less decorated cousin to the Eastman E40D we posted recently, but even without the decorations it’s an impressive and classy guitar.
This example was built at the Eastman plant in China during 2005 and has been both played in and well looked after. It’s set up for bluegrass use, meaning that the action is a little higher for spirited playing, competing with other percussively loud instruments like banjos and mandolins.

MORE →Taking design cues from the Martin D-42 dreadnought, the Eastman E40D shows the lines and visual features of the most successful guitars in a natural or sunburst top dreadnought. It’s well decorated, but not overly so and makes for a great sounding, tasteful and classy instrument.

MORE →The Bourgeois Slope D draws from the classics – the slope, or round shouldered dreadnought guitars introduced in the late 1930’s by Gibson and to some degree the earlier Ditson Martins. Many of Gibson’s J sized models – the J-35 and iconic J-45 used this body design. Bourgeois takes the idea and executes it flawlessly with the highest quality materials.
This Bourgeois Slope D was built during 2004 in Lewiston, Maine, and features a Sitka Spruce top with a sunburst finish. The sides, back and neck are mahogany, with an ebony fingerboard and bridge.
