Gibson Explorer Vintage White, 2008

The Gibson Explorer has been a more or less regular production model since then in a number of variations, mostly finding a home in harder rock bands; it’s seldom seen on Country stages. This Gibson Explorer in Vintage White has a simple construction – Mahogany for the body and neck, and Ebony for the fingerboard. 496R and 498T pickups are installed and controlled by a pickup selector, individual volume and a master tone control.

Gibson Mastertone RB250 5 String Banjo, 2003

For decades, the Gibson Mastertone RB250 banjo was the benchmark, workhorse banjo for countless players in country and bluegrass styles. During the later 1960’s and the 1970’s, however, quality suffered, until in 1984 Gibson hired Greg Rich to revamp the line and bring quality back to its original high level.

❌ Sold ❌ Collings 001 Mh Mahogany Steel String Guitar, 2012

The Collings 001 is based on a very traditional design that’s been a standard for over a century, and this example is built with Mahogany for the top, back and sides. This fine guitar was built in Austin, Texas during 2012. Like every Collings we’ve seen, the build quality is exceptional, with excellent playability and great tone. It is good condition, and we’d rate and price it higher except that there is some subtle finish marking, visible only from close up – from more than a foot away, it’s nearly impossible to see it and doesn’t really show in the photos.

Taylor GC8 Left Handed Steel String Guitar, 2010

This left handed acoustic, a 2010 Taylor GC8, with a compact Grand Concert body and slotted peghead, of Sitka Spruce paired with Indian Rosewood. The Taylor GC8 Left Handed neck is Mahogany, with a bound ebony fingerboard and ebony bridge. This guitar is in good overall condition, with a small amount of cosmetic finish separation in the area of the neck joint. Otherwise, it’s very clean with only light wear. The original hard shell case is included.

John Larrivee Classical Guitar, 1969

Here’s a historical piece – a Larrivee classical guitar, built during 1969 in Toronto when John Larrivee was studying with Edgar Monch. This is one of Larrivee’s very first guitars, as evidenced by the label. The very first labels were hand typeset, and had two spelling errors, in the first and last names!
