Built in San Luis Obispo California, the National Resolectric solidbody guitar Sunburst blends the resophonic and solidbody electric guitar concepts, to great success. Very similar in design to the Resolectric Revolver, the National Resolectric uses the familiar pairing of a flame Maple top on a Mahogany body that’s routed for the resonator and electric pickups, and a bolt-on flame Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard. The headplate is a faux pearl covering.
Ebony
Now out of production, the Larrivee LJ15 Rosewood 12 String is based on the Larrivee Jumbo body, with Rosewood for the sides, back and head plate and a Sitka Spruce top. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany with Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. This Larrivee LJ15 Rosewood 12 String dates to March 31, 1992 while Larrivee had their shop in Victoria, British Columbia

MORE →Eastman MD515 mandolins are a high quality yet reasonably priced rendering of the classic Gibson F-style instruments introduced in the 1920s during Lloyd Loar’s tenure at Gibson. One of Orville Gibson’s radical innovations was to bring violin family construction principles into the world of guitars and mandolins, leading directly to the arched top instruments that are commonplace today. The Eastman MD515 models are part of Eastman’s entry level instrument lines, but that doesn’t mean that they have skimped on quality, just on decoration.

MORE →The Eastman company builds more arched top instruments than anyone else, and they apply their expertise to thinline archtop electrics like the Eastman T186MX. This model seems largely based on classic thinline hollowbodies like the Casino and ES-330. Featuring solid wood construction, the Eastman T186MX has a solid, carved flame Maple top, solid Mahogany sides and solid mahogany carved back with a support block under the bridge and tailpiece.
