The Alhambra Luthier India is based on proven, traditional designs and wood combinations. The soundboard is top quality cedar, paired with Palisandro or Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, bridge and headplate. The neck, which is a Spanish ‘slipper heel’ design, is Spanish Cedar with Ebony for the fingerboard. This example was completed in 2000, with is production beginning of November 1999.

Here we have a rarity – a James Frieson Flamenco guitar, built while Frieson was working in his native Canada. He currently builds spectacular guitars in Hokkaido, Japan, and is one of, if not the only Western builder in that area.  Frieson began building in 1972 and soon met South American luthier Olivo Espin, and worked with him for five years, developing his skill and knowledge.

The Ramirez 4 NE – Estudio 3 Model Guitarras de Estudio is the top ‘production’ model from Ramírez. Based on the of the 1990s model E series guitars, developed from designs conceived by Jose Ramírez III,  Amalia Ramírez created the NE models as an affordably priced, all-solid-wood instrument for the serious student of classical guitar. This instrument features all solid wood construction, an asymmetrical six top-strut fan brace pattern, a unique custom soundhole mosaic rosette and custom Ramírez label. The headstock shape is the standard modern pattern associated with Ramírez guitars.

 M. Sakurai No.8 Classical Guitar, 1977

The M. Sakurai No.8 classical guitar was part of a line of guitars built by Masaki Sakurai as he was learning in the workshop run by his uncle, Masaru Kohno. The M. Sakurai No.8 is built using solid Cedar tops and laminate Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, and solid Rosewood for the headplate and bridge. The Mahogany neck carries an Ebony fingerboard, and is joined to the body with a dovetail joint, departing from the ‘slipper heel’ found on traditionally built Spanish guitars.

Here we have a Conde Hermanos classical guitar built during 1992, with a Spruce top and Indian Rosewood for the back, sides, headplate and bridge. The guitar is constructed in the typical Spanish style, with the ‘slipper heel’ integrating the neck, sides and back. The neck is Spanish Cedar with an Ebony fingerboard. Schaller tuners with gold finish and faux pearl buttons are installed at the head and work well.
