The Beard Deco Phonic Model 27 round neck single cone spider guitar, is a new series from Beard, aiming to re-create the aesthetics of the 1920’s when resophonic guitars were invented. The Beard Deco Phonic Model 27 is the entry point for the Deco Phonic line, and like the other models is available in both round and square neck versions. Construction reflects Beard’s consistently high quality, and the materials are selected to be fully CITES compliant.

Here’s a treat – a new Paul Beard Deco Phonic Sidecar acoustic, hearkening back to the classic models of the 1930s heard on many blues ragtime and country recordings. The Beard Deco Phonic Sidecar is built on the standard Beard R body, with an Engelmann Spruce top, Finnish Birch Laminate back and sides, Mahogany neck and Morado bridge and fingerboard. Morado is a non-CITES listed substitute for Brazilian Rosewood, sometimes known as Pau Ferro.

  National Style 1 Tricone Resophonic Guitar,  1929

This National Style 1 Tricone has a 12-fret ‘Spanish’ or round neck and dates to 1929, and was built at the National shop in Los Angeles. All of these guitars had 12-fret necks until 1934, at which point the influence of banjo players migrating to guitar prompted an industry shift to 14-fret necks. This guitar is in good condition and is fully playable – it has just been serviced at The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop, with a neck reset, fret dress, setup, brace repair and new cones.

This Beard R Model Squareneck was built during 2013 at the Beard shop in scenic Hagerstown, Maryland, is in very good condition and has the Fishman Nashville ‘Jerry Douglas’ pickup installed. This one is ready to go, onstage or on tour! This model features solid Mahogany for the neck and open-soundwell body, and the binding is Curly Maple. The fingerboard is Ebony, with Mother of Pearl for the position markers; the bridge is Maple with an Ebony cap and that covers the woods used.
