Gibson Moderne Heritage Limited Natural, 1982

Gibson Moderne Heritage Limited Natural, 1982

Here’s one of the rarest of all Gibson guitars – the Gibson Moderne, designed and registered in June 1957 but not put into production until 1982! At the end of the 1950’s, Gibson had to respond to the Fender juggernaut with flashy new designs, and Ted McCarty developed three in co-operation with prominent Detroit auto designer Ray Dietrich. These three designs, the Explorer, Flying V and Moderne were registered with the US Patent and Trade Mark Office during 1958.

Gibson J-50 ADJ Slope Shoulder Natural, 1968

Gibson J-50 ADJ Slope Shoulder Natural, 1968

The Gibson J-50 ADJ Slope Shoulder Dreadnought models were produced in tandem with the better known J-45, with the difference being the J-50’s natural vs the J-45’s sunburst top. This sometimes meant that the J-50’s used visually higher grades of Spruce, but the two guitars are otherwise identical.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Iced Tea Burst, 2001

Gibson Les Paul Standard Iced Tea Burst, 2001

Seen here is a very Gibson Les Paul Standard in Iced Tea Burst finish built during 2001 in Nashville, TN. While its top is somewhat plain, it has everything else that’s made the Les Paul an enduring classic. While the Les Paul was introduced in 1952, the Les Paul Standard named as such didn’t appear until 1958 after Gibson’s new Humbucking pickups were installed to 1957 models.

Gibson ES Les Paul Light Burst, 2014

Gibson ES Les Paul Light Burst, 2014

Coming from the now shuttered Memphis plant in 2014, the Gibson ES Les Paul combined classic Les Paul aesthetics with the immensely successful thinline ES concept. Along with the plant, this model has, as such, been discontinued by Gibson’s new management. The new ES-235 is perhaps its replacement in this class. Here we’re looking at a very, clean Gibson ES Les Paul sporting a Light Burst finish. There is very little wear of any type, to the frets, fingerboard, finish or plating.
