Gretsch G6128 Duo Jet With Bigsby Black, 2016

Here’s a very clean, all original 2016 Gretsch G6128 Duo Jet in Black, with vintage-style Bigsby B3 V-cut tailpiece and Space Control bridge. This model uses the 1959 style electronics layout with two Filter ‘Trons – apparently not by TV Jones as there is no T designation – pickup selector, tone selector, plus individual and master Volume controls.

Martin D-42K Custom Koa Dreadnought, 2005

Sometimes we run into guitars that are just spectacular in every way. This Martin D-42K Koa Custom, built between May and July 2005, is one such guitar. This guitar is visually stunning and has far more than just good looks. It plays very well, is extremely responsive with a full, rich and sparkling tone, and it’s quite light.

Gibson Byrdland Thinline Archtop Electric Natural, 1976

The Gibson Byrdland appeared in 1955 as a custom order for Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. These two were top Nashville session guitarists who wanted full archtop tone, but in a more comfortable thinner body and a shorter scale length – 23.5 inches, rather than Gibson’s standard 24.75 inches – to allow easier access to complex chords fingerings. The Byrdland was the first of Gibson’s thinline archtop guitars, with many more to follow. The design was so successful that it was quickly promoted to production status.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Wine Red, 1995

Here is a classic Wine Red Gibson Les Paul Standard built during June of 1995, in good clean original condition with no weight relief and only minor wear. Following the design of the late 1950’s models, the 1995 Gibson Les Paul Standard features a carved Maple cap on a solid Mahogany body, with Mahogany for the back and Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard.

Larrivee OO-05 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1993

Now discontinued but based on the classic 14-fret OO sized body, the Larrivee OO-05 pairs a Sitka Spruce top with tropical Mahogany for the sides, back and neck, with Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. This fine example dates to December 13, 1993 and was built in Victoria, British Columbia.

Ryan Paradiso Grand Concert Steel String Guitar, 2020

Here we have a very special Ryan Paradiso Grand Concert model, built during 2020 in Southern California and with all of the Ryan appointments. It is rare to see one of these models on the used market. Kevin Ryan has been building guitars since 1987, while he was an engineer for Northrop AgroScience Lab, building models of jets for transonic wind tunnel testing. The necessarily extreme thoroughness and attention to detail carried over into his guitar designs, producing many innovations – not to mention great sounding guitars!
