SOLD Boucher LTD OMH Moonwood and Walnut, 2020

Here’s something special – a Boucher LTD OMH built with Flamed Black Walnut for the sides and back, and Adirondack Spruce in a Moonwood form for the top. Moonwood is not a specific variety of any kind of wood species. Rather, the name refers to when it was harvested; at varying seasons and phases of the moon, sap content is higher or lower. During autumn and winter, when the tree is moving to hibernation, and just before the new moon, sap content is at its lowest.

Gretsch Model 35 Archtop Guitar Sunburst, 1933

The Gretsch Model 35 American Orchestra archtop guitar appeared in 1933 and was built until 1940, when it was replaced by the Synchromatic line and the model 30. The Model 35 features a solid carved Spruce top with small-size F holes. Maple is used for the sides and back, Flamed Maple for the neck and Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. The Gretsch logo is a Banner style using an engraved pearlescent plastic – rather like a drum covering.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Black, 1990

Here is a classic non-weight-relieved Gibson Les Paul Standard in black dress, dating to January 13, 1990 at the Gibson Nashville plant. This well proven design features a Mahogany body with a bound Maple cap, and a Mahogany neck with bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The original Gibson Deluxe Kluson-style tuners on this Gibson Les Paul Standard have been replaced with a set of Grover Roto-Matics.

Jose Romanillos & Son Classical ‘La Amistad’, 2005

Here is a wonderful rarity – a Jose Romanillos & Son classical guitar, ‘La Amistad’, built during 2005 by one of the finest builders anywhere. This Jose Romanillos & Son Classical guitar, named ‘La Amistad’ on the label along with the signatures of Jose and Liam, was built during 2005 at the Romanillos shop in Gillingham, Dorset. It is in very good, clean condition and while its decorations are understated, its construction and tone are impressive. This is a guitar that draws all the builders in the shop, wanting to have a close look!

SOLD Ibanez EHB1000 Headless Bass Pearl White Matte, 2020

The Ibanez EHB1000 line was introduced at the 2020 Winter NAMM show, and features a Basswood body, Maple neck and active Bartolini pickups. The line is available in 4 or 5 string versions, and there’s a Multi-Scale option for the 5-string. There are two models, the EHB1000 series seen here, and the EHB1500 series, which uses a Mahogany and Poplar for the body, and Panga Panga (Millettia stuhlmannii) instead of Maple for the neck.

The Huss & Dalton TDR is, as the name breaks down, a Traditional Dreadnought design with Rosewood for the sides, back, and head plate. This Huss & Dalton NOS TDR Custom is a New Old Stock model but still covered as new! Built in Staunton, Virginia, the Huss & Dalton TDR evokes the best of the traditional Dreadnought design. Extremely well built and finished, the TDR seen here – a Custom version – uses a Thermo-cured Adirondack Spruce top, paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides and back.
