Fender Jazz Bass Refinished Sunburst, 1966

The Fender Jazz Bass appeared in 1960, at a time when Fender dominated the electric guitar and bass market, but needed to introduce new models. The Jazz Bass Intended as a Deluxe instrument with a very different sound, look and feel from the Precision Bass, which had in a few years become a standard. However, the P-Bass was not fully accepted by Jazz players, and Fender wanted to expand their market to include them.

Hagstrom Super Swede Sunburst, 1983

The Hagstrom Super Swede, built from 1979 until Hagstrom closed in 1983, was the last of the top quality guitars from the venerable Swedish builder. The original Swede used a bolt-on neck, and one of the Super Swede’s upgrades is a set neck. This Super Swede dates to 1983 at the Hagstrom Alvaden plant, and features a dark red sunburst. It is in overall very good condition, and is complete and original except for the case – a Japanese hard shell case is included. The body and neck are solid maple, and the bound fingerboard is Indian Rosewood.

The Alhambra 10 Premier classical has a bracing design that maximizes its volume and projection.Balanced bass, medium and treble sounds and an incredible sound projection, in modern guitar. A sound with a perfect string height, high enough to contribute to the sound, but at the same time with just the right height to be extremely comfortable, which describes a guitar with incredible sound projection and well-balanced bass, medium and treble.

Azola Lightning Bug Upright Electric Bass, 2009

Azola Lightning Bug Basses – and other Azola Electric Upright Basses or EUB’s – were built from 2001 at the Azola shop in California until Azola ceased production in 2010. Azola started building in 1994 with a rebuild of the classic Ampeg Baby Bass. While putting together his Baby Bass prototype, Azola thoughtfully approached Ampeg for authorization. The results were positive – not only was Ampeg supportive, but when they decided to formally re-issue the classic Baby Bass, they asked Azola to build them!

Santa Cruz D Model Guitar Natural, 2012

Here we’re looking at a Santa Cruz D model built during 2012 in Santa Cruz, California. This guitar features a Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides and headp plate. The bridge and bound fingerboard are Ebony, and the neck and body blocks are Mahogany. This example is in overall good clean condition, with minor wear. There is a small mark below the ‘belly’ of the bridge, possibly from an errant string change.

Ethan Deutsch Flamenco Blanca Guitar, 2018

Here we have a wonderful recent Ethan Deutsch Flamenco Blanca guitar, built during 2018 in Seattle, Washington. This outstanding instrument features traditional Flamenco construction, with the goal of being very light and extremely responsive. The top is Engelmann Spruce paired with Cypress for the back and sides. The neck and body blocks are Spanish Cedar (Cedrela Odorata). The fingerboard is Ebony, and the headplate and bridge are Bolivian Rosewood. Bindings are Rosewood.
