Updating the classic P-Bass, the Fender Elite Precision Bass adds a bridge Jazz Bass Pickup, active and passive circuitry, a contoured heel and a HiMass bridge. Quickly adopted after its 1952 introduction, the Precision Bass has become the standard bass for performers in virtually all genres. It has proven itself to be extremely durable, reliable, and versatile and many other builders have based instruments on the P-Bass concepts.

Gibson J200 VS Jumbo Vintage Sunburst, 1993

The Gibson J200 VS, for Vintage Sunburst, is one of the largest production acoustics and continues the reign of “The King of the Flat-Tops”. First appearing in 1938, the J-200 was immediately adopted by major country players. The original selling price was $200, with a $50 upcharge to have your name inlaid in the fingerboard. The J-200 has sometimes been named the SJ-200 (Super Jumbo), and outside of the war years 1944 to 1946, has been in regular production since its introduction.

Gibson Early J45 Slope Shoulder Sunburst, 1997

Built during 1997 and 1998, the Gibson Early J45 was designed by Ren Ferguson as a re-issue of the 1952 to 1954 J-45. The same treatment was seen in the ‘Early Hummingbird’. These models were forerunners to later ‘vintage recreations’ including the Historic, Authentic, Legend, True Vintage and New Vintage lines.

Hofner Model 182E2 Solid Bass Red Tolex, 1963

The Hofner Model 182E2 or ‘Solid Bass’ when sold by Selmer, was built at Bubenreuth Bavaria from 1962 to 1985, and was also available in a single pickup ‘E1’ model. While Hofner is best known worldwide for the Model 5000/1 violin shaped ‘Beatle Bass’ used by Paul McCartney, they also made many solidbody guitars and basses. The Hofner Model 182E2 uses many of the same components as its more famous cousin, including the pickups, electronics package and ‘Teacup’ control knobs. The scale length is 30 inches or 762mm, the same as the Beatle Bass models.

Eastman DT30OM Double Top Orchestra Model

The Eastman DT30OM is the second model in Eastman’s new Double Top line, bringing high end classical guitar technology to the steel string world – here in a classic Orchestra Model body design. The double top concept aims to allow a very thin, light and responsive top but with superior strength and stiffness. Here, thin layers of Sitka Spruce are bonded to a honeycomb Nomex core. Nomex is a Kevlar polymer and helps provide significant improvements in stiffness to weight ratios.
