Gibson ES 275 P90 Thinline Archtop Electric, 2017

Here’s a very nice, discontinued and rare Gibson ES 275 P90 model from the now-closed Memphis Gibson shop, featuring a fully hollow body and a pair of MHS P90 pickups. Built like a traditional archtop but with a thin body and the appearance of a vintage model, the Gibson ES 275 P90 uses a Maple Laminate body with Mahogany for the body blocks and neck, Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard and pinned bridge base, vintage style 3-diamond tailpiece and knobs, and a Script Gibson logo.

The Boucher SG51 is a hybrid style OM guitar that melds simple yet elegant visuals with an inspiring rich balanced tone. Each AAAA Adirondack red spruce top on the Boucher SG51 guitars is handpicked by Robin Boucher for looks and tone. Red spruce has a high ceiling for tone production which means you can drive a lot of energy with a flat pick or your fingers to produce lots of volume and tone.

The Anderson Icon Classic starts with the S style guitar concept and moves forward, building in modern professional features like the patented Buzz Feiten Tuning System. Here we’re looking at an Anderson Icon Classic built at the Anderson plant in Newbury Park, California during 2017, dressed in a lovely satin sunburst on an Alder body. The ’60’s Vibe profile neck is Maple with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and larger fretwire, and has a keyed, two-bolt neck joint for better access and stability.

Gretsch G8128TCG Duo Jet Cadillac Green Shopworn, 2014

The Gretsch G8128TCG, now superseded by the G6128T-57 Vintage Select, reproduces the 1957 Duo Jet in Cadillac Green and with TV Jones T-Armond pickups. These guitars vividly evoke the sounds of the 50’s Gretsch models, with plenty of twang and power. We have only one of these.

Guild GSR X180 Archtop Electric Blonde, 2013

Here’s a wonderful rarity and a natural blonde, a Guild GSR x180 archtop electric with a Spruce laminate top, dating to 2013. GSR stands for Guild Special Run, and this example is number 11 of 20 built. Originally, acoustic archtop guitars used solid, carved Spruce tops paired with solid, Maple for the sides and hand carved back. However, once pickups and amplifiers became more available and standard equipment, it was discovered that the tonal subtleties of the solid Spruce top could be overwhelmed by feedback.

Collings MT2 A Style Gloss Mandolin, Vintage Burst

The Collings MT2 A Style is one of the finest production mandolins available, using top shelf materials and very high level build quality. Built using traditional mixtures of a Red (Adirondack) Spruce top, Eastern Flame Maple back, sides and neck, with Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge, the Collings MT2 A Style is wrapped in an impeccable nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Collings does some of the best finishing around. The body of this example is bound with faux-tortoise plastic – Ivoroid is used on some versions – with black/white side and top purfling.
