Dating to October 2005 and built in Lewiston, Maine, this Bourgeois Slope D Custom dreadnought is in very good condition with negligible wear. It features an Adirondack Spruce top, Mahogany for the sides, back, body blocks and neck, Ebony for the bridge, bound head plate and bound fingerboard, and Indian Rosewood for the heel cap.

Bourgeois Signature D Madagascar and Adirondack Natural, 2009

Drawing from the iconic and sought after pre-war Dreadnoughts, the Bourgeois Signature D Madagascar serves up a rich combination of tone, presence and volume. Madagascar Rosewood is considered a visual and tonal equivalent to Brazilian Rosewood, though with a bit less orange to the colour. On this Bourgeois Signature D, it’s paired with Adirondack Spruce, as used on most of the best pre-WW2 steel string guitars.

Bourgeois JOMC Jumbo OM Cutaway Steel String Guitar NOS, 2015

Here is a new, old stock Bourgeois JOMC Jumbo OM Cutaway, built during 2015 with a German Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. The neck is Mahogany, with Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge; the headplate is highly figured and likely Madagascar Rosewood. The inlays are Mother of Pearl, and the tuners are by Grover.

Bourgeois Vintage D Adirondack Top, 2015

On June 11, 2019 /

Here we’re treated to a Bourgeois Vintage D, dating to May 19 2015 and featuring an Adirondack Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides and back. The neck is Mahogany, with a Ziricote head plate, and Ebony is used for the bridge and bound fingerboard. Mother of Pearl is used for the Bourgeois headstock inlay and the snowflake position marker sets. The top is enclosed in an old-style Herringbone inlay, and the back has a ‘Zipper’ center strip. Open gear, nickel plated Waverly tuners – made in Bozeman, Montana, not far from the Gibson Acoustic shop – are at the head.
