Larrivee L-02 LH Mahogany Left Handed Steel String Natural, 2010

The Larrivee L-02 LH is the Left Handed version of the standard L-02, using the classical-derived L body with Spruce top and Mahogany for the back and sides. Jean Larrivee began building classical guitars in the early 1960’s with a significant amount of information from Edgar Monch, the noted German builder who was working in Toronto at the time.

Larrivee Classical Guitar Natural, 1975

Here’s a very nice, well preserved long scale Larrivee Classical Guitar built during 1975 in Toronto, in one of the last locations before the growing company moved to Victoria B.C. This Jean Larrivee classical guitar features a Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides, head plate and bridge.

Larrivee L-03 Silver Oak Steel String Natural, 2008

This limited edition Larrivee L-03 Silver Oak with a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top dates to early 2008 in Vancouver, BC and is in great condition with its original hard shell case. Larrivee names the highly figured back and side wood as Silver Oak, while its proper name is Grievella Robusta, also called Australian Lacewood – it is not actually an Oak.

Larrivee L-11 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1978

The Larrivee L-11 Steel String guitar features Larrivee’s ‘L’ body, a blend of traditional classical guitar and Dreadnought proportions. The result is a very well balanced tonal palette. For the Larrivee L-11, the top and its bracing are Sitka Spruce, paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, body binding, and head plate.

Bruce West Brazilian Rosewood Classical Guitar, 1980

This Bruce West Brazilian Rosewood classical guitar was built during 1980 at Bruce’s shop near Lake Simcoe, south of Barrie Ontario. Bruce West has been involved in musical instrument building for most of his life, starting at age 12 with a bench at Geo. Heinl’s workshop in Toronto. In his teens he also played guitar for Ronny Hawkins!

Larrivee C-09 Florentine Cutaway Steel String, 1994

The Larrivee C-09 is still in production, and is fundamentally an L-09 model but with a pointed Florentine Cutaway. The Larrivee L-Body draws from classical guitar proportions, and delivers a full, rich and evenly balanced tone with plenty of volume and projection.
