Jackson SL3MG Neck-Through Electric Green Swirl, 2011

The Jackson SL3MG uses the ‘Super Strat’ concept, with a Floyd Rose locking trem system, and a pair of humbuckers. The scale length is a full 25.5 inches (648mm), and the nut width 1.6875 inches (43mm). This example is a Jackson SL3MG in Green Swirl finish, built during 2011 and in excellent condition in every respect. Originally, it came with EMG pickups but these have been replaced. The neck pickup is now a DiMarzio Evolution, and the bridge a DiMarzio Double Whammy. The original pickups are not included.

Ibanez produces a wide range of guitars, from entry level to full blown professional performance models, and the SS300 DVS archtop electric aims to the accomplished amateur jazz guitarist market. The SS300 gets good reviews on jazz guitar websites, where it’s recognised as very well made, well set up, and excellent value for price.

Kohno No.15 Brazilian Rosewood Classical Guitar, 1974

Here we have a Kohno No.15 Brazilian Rosewood Classical Guitar, built using a Spruce top paired with Brazilian Rosewood for the back, sides, headplate and bridge. The neck is Spanish Cedar, reinforced with ebony strips, and has an ebony fingerboard. The basic construction follows the traditional Spanish method, inserting the sides into slots in the heel. Proportions are for a concert grade instrument, 650mm scale length and 52mm nut width. Typically, it has no serial number but is dated to 1974.

Fender Bass VI MIJ Electric 6-String Bass Sunburst 1994

The Fender Bass VI first appeared in 1961 and managed to stay in the catalog till 1975. In 1994 and 1995, Fender Japan built a number of reissue models, including this very nice sunburst example.

Gretsch G6136LSB White Falcon Bass, 2011

Here’s something unusual a Gretsch G6136LSB White Falcon Bass dating to November 2011. We rarely see these basses; they were not produced with the original 1950’s versions of the White Falcon, and first appeared around 2006 as a new model built for Gretsch at the Japan Terada plant (hence the JT at the start of the serial number). This plant builds many really excellent quality instruments.
The Gretsch G6136LSB White Falcon Bass uses a fully hollow, arched Maple laminate body with tone bar bracing, and a 34-inch scale Maple neck with bound Ebony fingerboard, and with the engraved gold-plated “THE WHITE FALCON” plaque on the Falcon-styled headstock. It’s a White Falcon, so of course all of the binding is Gold Sparkle.

Gretsch G6120RHH Reverend Horton Heat Archtop Guitar, 2005

Here’s one we don’t see very often – a Gretsch G6120RHH Reverend Horton Heat Archtop signature model! This is based on a combination of 1955 6120 construction and 1958 style electronics. It has all the 1950’s Gretsch western decoration – the G-brand on the body, the Steer-head and cactus inlay set, 50’s style Bigsby arm and of course the Gretsch orange finish. It also has a couple of very modern upgrades – a pinned bridge and locking tuners for much faster string changes. This guitar is in all original condition and dates to November of 2005, the first year the Reverend Horton Heat signature model was available. It’s in very good condition and plays great.
