Epiphone Emperor Regent Archtop Electric Natural Antique, 1997

Built as a ‘reissue’ from 1995 to 2011, the Epiphone Emperor Regent is a full 17 inch wide archtop guitar with a single floating pickup and pickguard-mounted controls. The label reads ‘Epiphone Emperor NA’ (NA meaning Natural Antique), the Emperor model had two top-mounted pickups, the Regent has one floating pickup. From their 1939 introduction, the Epiphone Emperor Regent and upgraded Emperor were at the top of the Epiphone archtop line, with Gibson as their main competition.

Samick by S. Yairi S7 Steel String Natural, 1989

This is an unusual piece – a 1989 Samick by S. Yairi S7 Steel String guitar with Cedar top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. While it’s an interesting and high quality instrument, it also illustrates a point in the history of guitar building in Japan, Korea — and Northern Ireland. Shown here is a Samick by S. Yairi S7 model dated to June 1989. This cedar topped, Rosewood bodied guitar has many features carried from Yairi’s then-recent contract work with George Lowden.

Tokai ‘SG Standard’ Cherry Red, 2000

Here we have a Tokai ‘SG Standard’ in a gloss Cherry Red finish, dating to around 2000. It was built in Korea and has no serial number, which places it between the mid 1990s and 2005. This particular example was purchased used by the current owner around 2002 in nearly new condition. It’s still in quite good shape and plays very well.

Reverend Charger Z90 Black, 2007

Now discontinued, this Reverend Charger from 2007 is a great example of the quality of Reverend’s instruments. At their inception in 1997, Reverend guitars were built near Detroit, Michigan except for their Stage King series.

Ibanez PM20 Path Metheny Archtop Electric Natural, 1997

The Ibanez PM20, in production from 1997 to 1999 and built in Korea by Cort, was one of several Pat Metheny signature models built in Japan and Korea. This example is in very good, clean condition with virtually no play wear.

Epiphone Supernova Manchester Blue, 2005

Influenced heavily by the Sheraton used by Noel Gallagher in Oasis, the Epiphone Supernova was built from 1997 to 2005, with a signature pickguard and features making it the Noel Gallagher Supernova. It was available in a variety of finishes including the Manchester Blue seen here, and a custom Union Jack graphic.
