The Ramirez FL2 Flamenco Blanca is a traditional Flamenco Blanca model, built to provide brilliant, percussive and loud rhythms at brisk tempos. This model, and its new replacement the Estudio Flamenco “Serranito” are the only ‘Student’ Flamenco guitars offered by Ramirez. Flamenco is now very professional and formalized, but is at its roots a folk style combining highly expressive, rhythmic percussion and melody using voice, dance, hand claps, finger snaps and guitars.

Evan Kingma Flamenco Guitar, Kauri 2018

This is a very special Evan Kingma flamenco guitar, with the sides and back from ancient Kauri wood sourced from New Zealand, and by Ancient, we mean thirty to fifty thousand years old. This guitar is numbered as 10, and named ‘Pink Mosque 3’. Evan Kingma is an up and coming Canadian luthier, from a small town in the Niagara Peninsula, but now studying and working full time in Spain with Master Luthier Stephen Hill. In addition to building, he also helps teach at The European Institute of Guitar Making in Granada.

Ramirez Model 4E Cedar Top Classical Guitar, 2001

Here’s a Ramirez Model 4E built during 2001 with the Ramirez shop at General Margallo No. 10 in Madrid, around the block from the Tetuan subway station. A full size guitar at 650mm scale and 52mm nut width, the 4E features a Red Cedar top, Indian Rosewood for the sides, back headplate and bridge, Ebony for the fingerboard, and Spanish Cedar (Cedro) for the neck and body blocks.

Alhambra Z-Nature Classical Guitar

The Alhambra Model Z-Nature Classical Guitar features a Solid Red Cedar top, with Mahogany for the sides, back and neck. The fingerboard is Indian Rosewood. The body is bound only on the top edge, and good quality nickel plated tuning machines are installed. A hard-shell case is included.

Ramirez SPR Spruce Top Classical Guitar, 2012

The Ramirez SPR classical guitar continues the tradition of the Ramirez 1a Especial model. Conceived by the maestro-luthier Amalia Ramirez, the SP-R furthers the evolution to the ‘modern’ sound. In the model designation, the SP refers to ‘Semi Professional’ and the R for Revised – this model supersedes and improves the original Ramirez SP. Based on professional grade model designs, the top of the Ramirez SPR is built at the Ramirez shop and the guitar completed offsite. The Ramirez home shop is not a large place, and Madrid doesn’t allow spray finishing within the city limits, so offsite completion is necessary.
