Huss and Dalton TD-M Custom Adirondack and Sinker Mahogany Dreadnought, 2014

The Huss and Dalton TD-M Custom is, as the name suggests, and buyer-customized version of the ‘Traditional Dreadnought-Mahogany’ model, in this case with Adirondack Spruce top and Sinker Mahogany back and sides.The ‘Traditional Dreadnought’ dates back to around 1911, when C F Martin built a number of large bodied guitars for the Ditson company. In 1931, with the need for ever-increasing volume, Martin re-launched the design with then now-classic ‘D’ series guitars. This design has been the basis for many other guitar models by many other builders.

Taylor 556ce 12 String Guitar, 2014

The Taylor 556ce 12 string guitar gives a good illustration of how Taylor became one of the prominent builders of 12-strings. They sound great and play very well, but also Taylor’s unique neck joint makes the inevitable neck reset a simple matter of maintenance. Using the same type of comfortable neck profiles as their six-string guitars, but naturally a bit wider, the Taylor 556ce 12 is a breeze to play

Richard Model N55 Dreadnought Guitar Natural, 2008

Here we have a Richard Model N55, built during 2008 in eastern Quebec, Canada. Richard is Richard Boucher, a cousin of Robin Boucher of Boucher Guitars, and related to Norman Boucher, who built Norman Guitars. This family has a serious interest in guitar building! The Richard Model N55 is based on the classic Dreadnought design, with an Adirondack Spruce top (native to this area of Quebec) and Mahogany for the back, sides, neck, and body blocks.

Gibson Les Paul Custom 25 Cherry Burst 2007

The spectacular Gibson Les Paul Custom 25 Limited Edition was built during 2007 and into 2008 for a run of 100 guitars – featuring highest grade flamed Maple top, colour matched Maple pickguard and trim rings, and gold plating! The Les Paul Custom 25 starts from the classic Les Paul Custom – a Mahogany slab body with a carved, highly figured Flame Maple cap, paired with a five-piece neck – three layers of Flame Maple separated by a thin Walnut layer.

Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop, 1969

The Gibson Les Paul Deluxe was built from late 1968 to 1985, and used an original style body layout and finish. The pickup cavities reflect the use of P90 pickups, though what was installed was a ‘New York’ mini humbucker mounted in a modified P90 cover, all in a gold top finish. Gibson launched the Les Paul in 1952, using a now-classic pairing of a Maple top on a Mahogany body, with a Mahogany neck and bound Rosewood fingerboard. By late 1952, the design was modified to increase the neck angle allowing better action and breakover at the bridge saddles and in 1954, the new Tune-O-Matic and Stop Tailpiece were added.
