Yamaha GC20A Grand Concert Brazilian Classical, 1982

The Yamaha GC20A was built as part of Yamaha’s Grand Concert line, reflecting their desire to create top quality classical guitars. This effort was made with the assistance of celebrated Spanish luthier Eduardo Ferrer, who travelled to Japan repeatedly to instruct and supervise a small group of Yamaha craftsmen.

William Laskin 7 String Classical Guitar, 1980

Built in 1980 at his Toronto shop, this William Laskin 7-string classical is in excellent condition, and plays well. Showing a clear influence of his work with Jean Larrivee – Laskin was Larrivee’s first apprentice in 1970 – this guitar features a sharp Florentine cutaway body built with German Spruce and Indian Rosewood, with Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the bridge and fingerboard. The headplate is also Indian Rosewood.

C. F. Martin 000-12 Custom Shop Goncalo Alves, 2017

Here’s a very special guitar – a C. F. Martin 000-12 Custom Shop 12 Fret, built during 2017 with Swiss Spruce top and Goncalo Alves for the back and sides. As a Martin Custom Shop instrument, this guitar is based on a 000 model with 12 fret neck, with customer-specified wood and trim choices. The top is certified High Altitude Swiss Spruce with scalloped Sitka Spruce bracing.

Collings SoCo Deluxe Thinline Electric Sunburst, 2009

The Collings SoCo Deluxe is an extremely well crafted take on the semi-solid, thinline archtop guitar concept that dates back to the 1958 introduction of the ES-335.The SoCo Deluxe is built with a carved, quilted Maple top on a carved Mahogany back, Mahogany sides and neck and a bound Ebony fingerboard. Mother of Pearl is used for the split-parallelogram and Collings logo inlays.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus Top Heritage Cherry Burst, 2007

Gibson has been quietly building Les Paul Standard Plus Top since about 2002, with the ‘Plus’ referring to the quality and amount of figure on the carved Maple top. Many of these models are also weight relieved, with slimmer ‘1960s’ profile necks and are very good instruments, not just beautiful pieces of functional art.Here we’re treated to a pristine Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus Top with Heritage Cherry sunburst finish. This guitar dates to June 27th, 2007 at the Nashville plant – before the devastating floods.
