Here’s another rarity – the Gibson ES-150D, a double cutaway, full depth hollow body electric archtop built as late as 1974 at the unionized Kalamazoo plant during the Norlin years. Drawing inspiration from the venerable ES-150 model – introduced in 1936 with the ‘Charlie Christian’ pickup and built until 1956 – the Gibson ES-150D is unusual.

Here’s a lovely rarity– an Gibson ES-150DC, a double cutaway, full depth hollow body electric archtop built as late as 1974 at the unionized Kalamazoo plant during the Norlin years. Drawing inspiration from the venerable ES-150 model – introduced in 1936 with the ‘Charlie Christian’ pickup and built until 1956 – the Gibson ES-150DC is unusual. In 1958, the all-new thinline, semi-hollow ES-335 and 345 were introduced and started the final decline of the popular full depth archtop.

Gibson Memphis ES-330 59 Reissue Natural, 2015

The Gibson Memphis ES-330 59 Reissue was built from 2009 to 2019, when the Memphis plant closed. This remarkable instrument re-creates the original 1959 version of the ES-330. This design was much better known in its later Epiphone form – the ES-230 Casino used by a number of influential British musicians. This Gibson Memphis ES-330 59 Reissue has a formal model number “ES30VNNH1”. This indicates the 330 style, vintage spec, nickel plating and natural finish.

The Gretsch G6122TG Country Gentleman Player’s Edition is the latest version of this classic updated with locking tuners, pinned bridge and string-through Bigsby. But there’s more to the updates – the neck joint was re-engineered to reduce the size of the neck block and comfortably increase upper fret access. This change alone is a huge improvement in playability, making an already great design even better!

Eastman AR-503ce Cutaway Electric Archtop Sunburst, 2014

This Eastman AR-503ce Archtop Cutaway Electric in sunburst, built during 2014 and in very good, clean condition. Generally positioned as a lower cost model, the Eastman AR-503ce uses a traditional full-depth single-cutaway design with arched solid, carved Spruce top, but with laminated Maple for the sides and arched back.

Gibson ES-165 Herb Ellis ‘Roadworn’ Sunburst, 2004

Built from 1991 to 2011, the Gibson ES-165 Herb Ellis draws from the classic workhorse ES-175, but with a single neck-mount ‘floating’ pickup; some variations used a top-mount humbucker. The Herb Ellis Plus used a pair of traditional full-sized, top-mount humbuckers.
