Huss & Dalton T0014 Rosewood Steel String Guitar

Here’s a beautiful new Huss & Dalton T0014 Rosewood, part of the Traditional series and here seen with a Rosewood rather than Mahogany body. The top of the Huss & Dalton T0014 Rosewood is Sitka Spruce and the neck is Mahogany, with Ebony for the bridge and unbound fingerboard. The headplate is Indian Rosewood, and there are no electronics installed – this guitar is entirely acoustic.

Ramirez Model 4E Cedar Top Classical Guitar, 2001

Here’s a Ramirez Model 4E built during 2001 with the Ramirez shop at General Margallo No. 10 in Madrid, around the block from the Tetuan subway station. A full size guitar at 650mm scale and 52mm nut width, the 4E features a Red Cedar top, Indian Rosewood for the sides, back headplate and bridge, Ebony for the fingerboard, and Spanish Cedar (Cedro) for the neck and body blocks.

Eastman SB56 NGD Gold Top Solidbody

The new Eastman SB56 NGD Gold Top Solidbody honors the traditional “LP” construction concept, with top quality materials, construction and components including stock Lollar pickups. Built using a one-piece Mahogany body under a solid carved Maple cap, and one-piece Mahogany neck with Ebony for the fingerboard and head plate, the Eastman SB56 is intended to look and act like a mid 1950’s gold top P-90 equipped model, and does a great job of it.

Eastman SB59 V Amber Solidbody Guitar

The Eastman SB59 V reflects the classic late 1950s design for a single cutaway, Flamed Maple on Mahogany solidbody with humbucking pickups. While it follows the formula, it’s not a precise copy and Eastman uses their own designs. As a ‘Vintage’ style model, this guitar has undergone an treatment process to simulate the wear of decades of use – except for fretwear.

Twisted Wood Pioneer Soprano Ukulele PI-100S

The Twisted Wood Pioneer soprano ukulele body is built with Laminate Sapele. Sapele, formally Entandrophragma Cylindricum, is of the same family as Mahogany (Meliaceae) and is largely found in tropical African countries, particularly in the Congo. This wood has become more commonly used for musical instruments and is often found on Taylor guitars, among others. In the form of a Laminate, the material is considerably stabler than as Solid wood, with good resistance to cracking under stress from changing humidity and temperature conditions.

Beneteau Flamenco Cedar and Cypress Guitar, 1999

Next is a very nice Marc Beneteau Flamenco guitar with Cedar top and Cypress back and sides, built in the Beneteau shop in St. Thomas Ontario during 1999. Built in a modern style, this Beneteau Flamenco model uses a Cedar top paired with Cypress for the sides and back. The neck is Flamed Mahogany and uses a bolt construction rather than the traditional Spanish ‘Slipper Heel’ design.
