This model features two ‘floating’ mini-humbucking pickups, one attached to the fingerboard tag and the other to the pickguard. Neither contacts the top though the pickguard has a small support post. In the 1980s, the great Jazz guitarist George Benson entered into a collaboration with Ibanez to produce a series of signature archtop electric guitars, including the GB10 and its fancier sisters.

MORE →The Gibson ES-335TD – Two pickup, Double cutaway – was a hit from its appearance in the late 1950. In one stroke it combined the best of solidbody and archtop guitars in a classy package. There have been a number of minor variations on the model since then. Here, we are looking at a Gibson ES335TD in gloss natural finish and all original condition except for one strap pin. It was built at the Gibson Kalamazoo plant and the serial dates it to July 6th, 1979.

MORE →The Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster is based on ‘Blackie’, the 1950s Stratocaster used by Clapton for a lot of his post-Cream work. That particular guitar is put together from a 1956 body and 1957 neck, with some 50’s pickups and one 1970’s. The Blackie version body is Alder with a gloss black urethane finish, and the neck is a quite comfortable 1957 style soft V shape. The frets are thankfully a somewhat taller Vintage style. For electronics, a set of Vintage Noiseless single coil strat pickups is used.
