Elrick Expat New Jazz Standard Bass Guitar Sunburst 2017

Rob Elrick has been building high end bass guitars since the 1990s. To make his designs more accessible, Elrick Expat models are built in Europe using US components. This Elrick Expat New Jazz Standard features a swamp ash body with a tobacco sunburst lacquer finish and a a 3-piece, 24 fret plus zero fret maple neck with birdseye maple fingerboard.

C. F. Martin Custom Shop Size 5 Terz 12 Fret Guitar, 2015

Recently a number of Martin Size 5 Terz guitars were built, recreating one of the most popular Romantic designs and the guitar favoured by Marty Robbins. Terz guitars were immensely popular in the early 19th century, and were often paired with full size guitars. The Terz is tuned up a minor third, to G – an equivalent is placing a capo on the third fret.

Gibson Firebird T Vintage Sunburst 2017

This new Gibson Firebird T Vintage Sunburst – The Twelfth Fret is one of the best renditions of the model that I’ve seen, with great build quality and changes to the hardware that improve the instrument as a whole.
The very first versions of the Firebird appeared in 1963 and used a neck-through-body design. In this design, the neck was one piece of wood extending the full length of the instrument.

Here’s a rare treat – from 2014, a very classy Gibson Custom Shop Flying V in black with multilayer binding. Introduced in 1958 as part of Ted McCarty’s push to adapt futuristic 1950’s auto design influences, the Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, and the legendary Moderne broke new ground.

Breedlove Quartz A-Style Mandolin Sunburst, 2002

Here we have a Breedlove Quartz A-Style mandolin dating to 2002 and built at the Breedlove shop in Bend, Oregon. The A-Style body design is sometimes referred to as a ‘teardrop’, and dates to the late 1890’s and was one of the radical innovations made by Orville Gibson, bringing violin-family construction techniques into the mandolin and guitar world. This instrument uses a solid, carved spruce top and maple back and sides. It’s in overall quite good condition for its age, with minor fret and finish wear. A Fishman bridge pickup has been installed with and endpin jack.
