The Dobro Style 27 Squareneck seen here was built during 1979 at the OMI (Original Musical Instrument) plant in Huntington Beach, before OMI’s sale to Gibson. Dobro had a long and somewhat complex history. Founded in 1928 by John, Rudy and Ed Dopyera – the Dopyera Brothers, shortened to DoBro – as John split from the recently formed National String Instrument Corporation.

Deering Calico Blonde 5-String Banjo, 2001

Here is a lovely Deering Calico Blonde 5-String banjo, built in Lemon Grove California, just before Deering Moved to Spring Valley. Deering started business as a banjo company in 1974, working from a shop in Lemon Grove, California. By 2001, the business had grown and new premises were opened just a few miles east in Spring Valley.

Deering Tenbrooks Legacy Banjo, 2004

The Deering Tenbrooks Legacy banjo is a professional grade instrument combining Mahogany for the neck and resonator with Maple for the tone ring. This example dates to 2004, built in Spring Valley California, and has a rather low serial number – 0020. It is in overall good shape, but it has definitely been used as intended and there is moderate fret wear and a few small scuffs around the resonator.

The Deering Tenbrooks Saratoga Star is one of the finest banjos in the Deering production line, combining the Tenbrooks hardware with highly figured Maple neck and resonator. Here we’re looking at a Deering Tenbrooks Saratoga Star, built during 2006 and recently set up with a new nut at The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop.

The Deering Calico Lefty 5-String Banjo is one of the absolute best, professional grade banjos available in left-handed, and this one comes with both the standard case and a flight case. It is also equipped with a Schatten pickup, Keith tuner, and five capo tacks. This fine banjo is in very good condition with only light wear, and has been well set up and maintained.

National Style O Nickel, 2021

Here is a National Style O in the stock Nickel Plate finish, nearly new and dated to February of 2021! This very shiny and reflective guitar is positioned facing a black backdrop to allow the etched designs to be seen clearly. The sides, reflecting the white background it’s resting on, give a better idea of its ‘natural’ finish tone.
