Michael Greenfield G-1 Cutaway Steel String Guitar Brazilian, 2002

Michael Greenfield G-1 Cutaway Steel String Guitar Brazilian, 2002

The Greenfield G-1 is a very responsive guitar, quick to react to even the lightest touch and lends itself to many different styles of music. It has a very focused yet open sound with a tight responsive bass, transparent mids and thick, clear, ringing highs. Primarily intended as a fingerstyle guitar, it is also superb for light strumming or acoustic jazz.

Larrivee LV-03R Steel String Acoustic Guitar, 2012

Larrivee LV-03R Steel String Acoustic Guitar, 2012

The Larrivee LV-03R Steel String Acoustic Guitar is part of the Recording series, and uses the traditional Larrivee L body, drawn from the proportions of the Hauser style classical guitar. This gives it a very reliable, even tonal representation throughout the spectrum and plenty of volume when requested. The cutaway definitely adds to the upper fret accessibility. This example dates to October 29, 2012 and was built at the old Larrivee plant in Victoria, BC. It features a Sitka Spruce top, with Indian Rosewood used for the sides, back, headplate and bridge plate, and the body is bound with maple.

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass White, 2014

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass White, 2014

Built during 2014 and naturally in a gloss white finish this Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass was the first instrument produced in 1976 by the then-new Music Man company, part owned by Leo Fender. The Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass is a full scale length, 34 inch 4 string bass with an Ash body and bolt-on Maple neck; both Maple and Rosewood fingerboards, as with this example, are available. The StingRay features a single humbucking AlNiCo magnet pickup in the bridge position, and an active 3-band EQ running off a single 9-volt battery, accessible via a small door on the back. The short headstock is typical of the Music Man design – at least one tuner is shifted to the treble side to reduce the length of the head, and improve overall weight distribution and balance.

Robert Laughlin Steel String Acoustic Guitar, 1983

Robert Laughlin has been building guitars, mandolins and related stringed instruments in Vancouver,  British Columbia since 1977.   He started building following a night course run by Bill Lewis, who went on to found Luthiers Mercantile. He has since built hundreds of instruments and has developed a unique body style for his guitars; he also offers Mandolins, Octave Mandolins and Celtic Bouzoukis.
Here we have a Laughlin Concert model steel string guitar built during 1983. Its body design is a bit smaller than a dreadnought, and is built with a Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood for the back, sides, headplate and bridge with Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the fingerboard.
