Epiphone FT45N Cortez Natural, 1964

Built at the Gibson Kalamazoo plant, the natural-finish Epiphone FT45N Cortez was produced from 1962 to 1969, but it first appeared with a sunburst in 1958. The Epiphone FT45N Cortez was very similar to some Gibson models, particularly the LG-2 (sunburst top) and LG-3 (natural top), which in 1962 became the sunburst B25, and in 1963 the natural B25N. They were built in the same plant and likely on identical forms.

Lowden S12 Spruce Steel String Guitar Natural, 1997

Built during 1997 at Newtonwards, Northern Ireland, this Lowden S12 pairs a Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany for the sides, back and neck. Overall this Lowden S12 is in good condition with light play wear. At some point, the pinless bridge was professionally re-glued. It plays nicely, and is responsive having a well developed voice with plenty of volume and projection.

Daniel Roberts Minstrel Sunburst, 2015

The Daniel Roberts Minstrel is a rare sight and is based on a late 40’s Gibson LG-2, mid-sized steel string guitar. Extremely well built and in excellent condition, this example dates to mid-2015. Like a 40’s LG-2, the Daniel Roberts Minstrel uses a Spruce top, here of reclaimed, century old Sitka. When the LG-2 replaced the L-00 in 1942, Sitka Spruce was being used in place of Adirondack, as that wood was marked for war production.

No Longer Available‼ Martin D-41 Dreadnought Centennial Natural, 2016

The Martin D-41 Dreadnought Centennial commemorates the 100th anniversary of the first Dreadnought guitars, built by Martin for the Charles H. Ditson company. For this anniversary, a number of Dreadnought models were produced in limited numbers. Named for what was then the largest warship ever built – the 1906 HMS Dreadnought – the first Martin / Ditson Dreadnoughts were so large and produced so much bass that it might have been marketed as a bass guitar.

Gibson Southern Jumbo Original Series Steel String Vintage Sunburst, 2021

The Gibson Southern Jumbo has been built since 1942, under several names including ‘SJ’ and ‘Country Western’ and is closely related to the classic J-45 which launched at the same time. At times the differences have been mostly market driven and cosmetic.

Larrivee C-09 Florentine Cutaway Steel String, 1994

The Larrivee C-09 is still in production, and is fundamentally an L-09 model but with a pointed Florentine Cutaway. The Larrivee L-Body draws from classical guitar proportions, and delivers a full, rich and evenly balanced tone with plenty of volume and projection.
