he Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Artist Proof #2 is the second of three production proof models built, before the design went to the regular line. All three of these guitars were personally approved by Alex Lifeson. Alex Lifeson is one of the most recognised rock guitarists, having spent his career with his band Rush. I am reminded of my high school days, seeing Rush perform in the school cafeteria on a stage made of folded tables; this was a long time ago and shows how dedicated Rush has been to working hard.

Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster ‘Blackie’, 2017

The Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster is based on ‘Blackie’, the 1950s Stratocaster used by Clapton for a lot of his post-Cream work. That particular guitar is put together from a 1956 body and 1957 neck, with some 50’s pickups and one 1970’s. The Blackie version body is Alder with a gloss black urethane finish, and the neck is a quite comfortable 1957 style soft V shape. The frets are thankfully a somewhat taller Vintage style. For electronics, a set of Vintage Noiseless single coil strat pickups is used.

Designed in the mid 1950’s by Roger Rossmeisl as a counterpoint to the highly successful Fender bass, the 4003 uses a ‘Cresting Wave’ body shape.

The Parker Fly Mojo is a bolt-on neck version of the 1993 Parker Fly, using carbon fibre on wood and humbucking pickups paired with active piezo bridge elements.
