Ibanez MM1 Martin Miller Signature Translucent Aqua Blue, 2018

The Ibanez MM1 Martin Miller Signature model is part of the Prestige line and features a Flame Maple cap on a Mahogany body with a Roasted Maple neck and stainless steel frets. Ibanez Prestige models are built in Japan from the highest quality components and materials, and it’s hard to find any better production guitars anywhere. Here we’re looking at an Ibanez MM1 Martin Miller Signature model in Translucent Aqua Blue, dating to April 2018 and built for Ibanez by FugjiGen Gakki at Nagano, Japan.

Fender American Elite Stratocaster Olympic Pearl, 2019

The Fender American Elite Stratocaster was built from 2016 to 2019 in Corona, California and is not to be confused with the 1980’s, CBS era ‘Stratocaster Elite’ models. Initially, these models had either Maple or Indian Rosewood fingerboards, but Rosewood was quickly dropped in favor of Ebony. This example dates to 2019 and features the classic Stratocaster body with deeper contours.

Fender 70th Anniversary Esquire® White Blonde

The Fender 70th Anniversary Esquire reproduces one of the earliest production electric guitars, the single pickup Esquire. This seminal instrument sparked an explosion in electric guitar production, particularly solidbody guitar production. Like the original run, the Fender 70th Anniversary Esquire uses a Roasted Pine body. Pine was readily available, inexpensive and easy to work, making it ideal for development of both the guitar design and production techniques.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Black, 1990

Here is a classic non-weight-relieved Gibson Les Paul Standard in black dress, dating to January 13, 1990 at the Gibson Nashville plant. This well proven design features a Mahogany body with a bound Maple cap, and a Mahogany neck with bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The original Gibson Deluxe Kluson-style tuners on this Gibson Les Paul Standard have been replaced with a set of Grover Roto-Matics.

Relish Mary Solidbody Guitar NOS, Cream

Here’s the last of our NOS – New Old Stock – Relish Mary models, this one in cream finish, Alder core and passive pickup system. Fairly new on the scene, Relish guitars are designed built in Switzerland, a little northwest of Lucerne. They are innovative in both design and choice of non-traditional materials and assembly methods. This example seen here is the Relish Mary model in the a cream white finish, equipped with two standard humbucking pickups. There are other Mary models with different center cores; here Alder is used to warm the tone. The place to start, however, is what makes these guitars innovative and distinct.
