Gibson SJ Long Scale Square Shoulder Dreadnought Sunburst, 1968

The Gibson SJ Long Scale, Square Shoulder Dreadnought was a variation on the classic SJ model built for a short time around 1968 as Gibson competed with Martin. The classic SJ first appeared in 1942 as a replacement for the J-55, an ‘upscale’ version of the J-45. This was originally a ‘slope’ or round-shouldered dreadnought with a 24.75 inch scale length in either sunburst or natural finish. The natural-top SJN version was renamed to the ‘Country Western’ from 1955 to 1960, and then back to SJN. In 1962, it was renamed again to ‘SJN Country Western’.

Gibson Western Classic Mystic Rosewood LTD Sunset Burst, 2015

Based on the still-produced SJ-200 Western Classic, the Gibson Western Classic Mystic Rosewood was built in a limited edition during 2015 under the guidance of Ren Ferguson. Gibson’s SJ-200, sometimes just called the J-200, is one of the iconic American steel string guitars, one of the largest and often regarded as top of the line. It has been used by countless players from the Everly Brothers and Emmylou Harris to Jimmy Page and Pete Townsend.

SOLD‼ Gibson Super 400 Acoustic Archtop Sunburst, 1937

The Gibson Super 400 strode above most others when giant archtops roamed the earth, and is still one of the largest production guitars made. Making its introduction in 1934 as the ‘Super L-5 Deluxe’, the non-cutaway model was quickly joined by a cutaway model, initially named the Super 400 P for ‘Premiere’. The ‘400’ designation was originally a reference to the price. These were top of the line for acoustic archtop guitars, and were played by many top artists – Merle Travis being one.

Gibson L1 Robert Johnson Steel String Sunburst, 2005

Based on the very popular L-1 model launched in 1926, the Gibson L1 Robert Johnson reproduces the look, feel and most importantly the sound of a guitar used by the legendary blues guitarist. The Gibson L1 was introduced in 1902 and built as an arched top, round soundhole model until 1925. In 1926, it was re-introduced as a flat top, along with the very similar L-0 Mahogany top model. The L-1 was built until 1937, while the L-0 was dropped in 1933 and then re-introduced in 1937 and built until 1942 (but with a Spruce top). Both models were replaced by the J-45.

This is a beautiful brand new Huss & Dalton DM mahogany dreadnought, a great guitar following the traditional pattern of Mahogany D style guitars. Established in 1995, Huss & Dalton began when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton had the idea to build the guitar they wanted to play. While always appreciating the traditional design, both had a vision of a guitar that paid homage to tradition while incorporating improvements in the structural design and cosmetics of the steel string guitar.

The Seagull S6 Original is a small revamp of the award winning Seagull S6, first introduced in 1982 and which has become the flagship model for the Seagull line which features excellent quality and value. The Seagull line, like Art and Lutherie and Simon & Patrick, are all products of the Godin companies based in southern Quebec, Canada. The revamp of the Seagull S6 Original features a pressure tested solid cedar top, laminate wild cherry sides and back and a thin yet durable semi-gloss finish. The combination of the dreadnought body shape and the solid cedar top produces a tight bottom end, crisp midrange and smooth top end.
