Here’s something rare and wonderful – from the top end of the 1960 to 1980 classical guitar world, an Arcángel Fernández gutar by Marcelo Barbero (Hijo) built in Madrid. Arcángel Fernández was a student of Marcelo Barbero, and following Barbero’s death his son ‘Marcelino’ joined the Fernandez shop. Arcángel Fernández is regarded as one of the finest guitar builders ever, particularly for Flamenco models, but his guitars are very hard to come by as many were purchased by collectors.

The Godin Acousticaster is the natural progression of an original idea from Chet Atkins, who needed an acoustic guitar that wouldn’t feed back at stage volumes. The first models were the Gibson Chet Atkins Cutaway Electric Classical, which used a heavy, chambered mahogany body with spruce top and a six-element piezo bridge pickup.
