Based on a Jumbo body with an Venetian cutaway, the Taylor LKSM pairs a Sitka Spruce top with Tropical Mahogany for the sides, back, body blocks and neck. The fingerboard and bridge are Ebony, with Indian Rosewood for the head plate and body binding. The tuners here are gold-plated Grover mini Rot0-Matics, though the specs call for Taylor branded tuners. As stock, this is a fully acoustic model with no electronics.

The top has Herringbone purfling, and the back has a center ‘Zipper’ strip.

MORE →Dmitry Kulakov has brought us one of his newer creations, the DK Cleopatra model featuring his Fibonacci body shape, Sitka Spruce top and Amazon Rosewood for the sides and back. New guitar designs are relatively easy to come up with, but what’s much more difficult is having that design work as a functional and good sounding instrument. The DK Cleopatra succeeds in these regards, resulting in an attractive and visually striking and rather good sounding instrument.
