This model features two ‘floating’ mini-humbucking pickups, one attached to the fingerboard tag and the other to the pickguard. Neither contacts the top though the pickguard has a small support post. In the 1980s, the great Jazz guitarist George Benson entered into a collaboration with Ibanez to produce a series of signature archtop electric guitars, including the GB10 and its fancier sisters.

MORE →The Eastman MD815-V F-Style F-Hole Mandolin is one of the most recognisable mandolin designs, based on the groundbreaking work of Orville Gibson in the late part of the 19th century, blending traditional mandolin and violin construction principles. The F-Style mandolin has become one of the benchmark instruments for country, bluegrass, celtic, and traditional music forms. And, if you take a listen to Chris Thile, they can do Bach to the full potential of the player. Closely related to the Eastman MD814-V model, the F soundhole and its enhanced treble attack tilts the Eastman MD815-V towards Bluegrass and Country repertoires, compared to the F-holes on the MD815/V.

MORE →The Gibson J-45, produced since 1942 with only one brief pause, is one of my favourite guitars. The round shoulder mahogany dreadnought body and spruce top produces a warm, rich tone that works really well with voice. From 1999 to 2006, Gibson produced a variant of the venerable J-45, the J-45 Rosewood using Indian Rosewood instead of mahogany with all the warmth of the original plus extra depth and power.

MORE →Built at the Kalamazoo, Michigan plant during 1963, this Gibson ES-330 TD is in overall good, complete and original condition. It has been played and used as intended so the finish has some minor wear and lovely natural checking, with moderate to heavy fret wear in some positions. Overall it’s in good shape with wear in the expected areas; it has not been abused or neglected though it’s definitely seen use. It is currently strung with flat wounds.
